Michael Freitag

Michael Freitag — nickname "Critch" — is the founder of urlaubspartner.net (Travel Buddy Community) and the author of our city travel guides. For more than 15 years he has worked on digital marketplaces and community platforms and travelled the world as a solo traveller — combining both worlds in the Travel Buddy Community.

As a member of the Forbes Business Councils he regularly publishes on entrepreneurship, digital business models and community building. The city guides on urlaubspartner.net are produced editorially: curated from personal trips, on-the-ground research, public Google Maps reviews and recommendations from local travel buddies in the community.

Michael Freitag has built several companies in Munich over the past two decades. Since 2026 he has been living in Abu Dhabi, from where he continues to develop urlaubspartner.net — available in 78 languages since 2026 and used by travellers worldwide.
