All the best, your Gaby TRIP USA - JAPAN - HAWAII Duration: 5 (6) months 1. New York (3-4 days) • Sights: Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building, Ground Zero 2. East Coast USA and Niagara Falls (approx. 2 weeks) • Washington D.C.: National Mall, White House, Smithsonian Institution • Boston: Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Harvard University • Niagara Falls: Boat tour to the falls, Cave of the Winds 3. South USA (approx. 4 weeks) • New Orleans: French Quarter, music and cuisine • Miami: Beaches, Art Deco Historic District • Austin: Live music, Texas BBQ • Nashville: Country Music Hall of Fame, Broadway Street • Atlanta: Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola • Cheapest travel time: The best time to avoid hurricanes in the South is usually from November to April. Tornadoes can occur in the South in spring and fall, so a trip in winter or spring would be the safest. 4. West Coast USA (approx. 4 weeks) • Los Angeles: Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier, Universal Studios • San Francisco: Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Wharf • San Diego: San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, La Jolla Cove • Disneyland (near Los Angeles): Experience Disney magic 5. Arizona and Monument Valley (approx. 1 week) • Grand Canyon: National Park, hikes along the rim of the canyon • Monument Valley: Red rock formations, experience Navajo culture • Rodeos and Festivals: Specific dates vary, but there are many rodeos and festivals in and around Arizona throughout the year. Researching specific dates is recommended. 6. Japan (approx. 4-5 weeks) • Tokyo: Shibuya, Asakusa, Meiji Shrine • Kyoto: Kinkaku-ji, Fushimi Inari-Taisha, Arashiyama • Osaka: Osaka Castle, Dotonbori • Hiroshima: Peace Park, A-Bomb Dome, Itsukushima Shrine (Miyajima Island) 7. Hawaii (approx. 2 weeks) • Oahu: Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head • Maui: Road to Hana, Haleakalā National Park • Big Island: Volcano National Park, black sand beaches 8. Midwest USA (approx. 2 weeks) - With a rental camper • Chicago: Millennium Park, Art Institute of Chicago • Yellowstone National Park: Geysers, hot springs • Mount Rushmore: Famous sculpture of presidents 9. Return to New York (approx. 2-3 days) The length of individual stages and the sightseeing are of course not set in stone and can be changed and agreed upon, or extended or shortened at any time. ????
