Round trip through Iceland

I want to explore the highlands and the Westfjords. I will rent a solid rental car (Duster) and first drive north from the south via the F26 and then back via Askia to Nydaldur. From there back to the west coast and up into the Westfjords. I have been to Iceland before, always for about 10 days. I have already experienced a volcanic eruption live three times and it is a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, Icelandic volcanoes are a bit unreliable and you never know exactly when they will turn on. I am only roughly planning the itinerary because I only have fixed points that I want to visit. I will decide the exact route based on the current weather.
